5 Reasons Why the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Will Beat the New Orleans Saints
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have struggled so far this season, but they’re heading to New Orleans to take on the Saints, who are 0-2 on the season and have been terrible in home openers under head coach Sean Payton. There are plenty of reasons why the Buccaneers will win this game and put their season back on track before it’s too late. Here are 5 of them...
1) Jameis Winston Rushing Attack
New Orleans hasn't faced a quarterback like Winston all year and it's going to be tough for their front seven to contain him. Despite coming off of injury, Winston will look to keep his mobility in check and rely on his arm as much as possible.
Even if he's not 100%, the Bucs can depend on their rushing attack, which has been impressive through the first two weeks of play.
2) Julio Jones vs Marshon Lattimore
No position in football is more important than quarterback, but the battle between Julio Jones and Marshon Lattimore will be on full display this Sunday when Matt Ryan faces Drew Brees. In two games against Lattimore with Jones, he totaled 11 catches for 155 yards and 1 touchdown. Those are inflated numbers by any means, but when a player as talented as Julio is targeted 11 times in a game, he will eventually find his way into the endzone.
3) Gerald McCoy vs Sheldon Rankins
McCoy may be one of the most important players on this Buccaneer team. He is a player that not only provides stability at the point of attack, but also destroys running games by coming off of blocks to make tackles behind the line of scrimmage. McCoy is an athletic monster and will be tasked with slowing down one of the best interior defensive lineman in football today in Rankins.
4) Mike Evans vs Marcus Lattimore
The game will be a battle between two receivers, the vastly more experienced Mike Evans and Marcus Lattimore, who is looking to make a name for himself on this national stage. In terms of physicality, there's not much separating these two players. But what separates them is Evans's experience. His understanding of defensive technique and his savvy in adjusting his routes as a play develops have propelled him to elite status in his first three years.
5) Lavonte David vs Alvin Kamara
Kamara has been fantastic for the Saints, but David will be ready to shut him down. In week 1, he had three tackles for a loss and one sack. The Bucs already have four interceptions this season which ranks them in the top 10 for that category. With two aggressive defenses going head to head, Sunday night's game should be an exciting matchup.
On defense, Lavonte David is ready to stop Alvin Kamara when they face off on Sunday Night Football.
